About In Between Days

In Between Days is a space for personal and political writing about facing up to the world we're living in, "between the no longer and the not yet", launched in October 2025 by me, Tim Hollo. I explain why here.

About the author

Tim Hollo is an environmentalist, a musician, a writer, a community builder, a facilitator, a father, and probably various other things, living on Ngunnuwal country, Canberra, Australia.

Until recently, Tim was Executive Director of The Green Institute, the official think tank of the Australian Greens. Prior to that, he founded Green Music Australia, was Communications Director for Greens Senator (and leader) Christine Milne, and has worked for Greenpeace, 350 and others. With FourPlay String Quartet, he has recorded 7 albums and toured the world, from Woodford Folk Festival to Carnegie Hall. As a member of Musicians Australia, he is delegate to the Federal Council of the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA). Locally, Tim established Canberra’s flourishing Buy Nothing Groups, set up a little library, spearheaded a campaign to keep billboard advertising out of the city, and has run for election twice (unsuccessfully, thank goodness) as Greens candidate for the federal electorate of Canberra.

His book, Living Democracy: an ecological manifesto for the end of the world as we know it, was published by NewSouth in 2022.
